Perla Maarek

Born the 4th of July 1986, in a little city close to Paris, Perla Maarek has been awake to graphic art since her childhood. She has drawn and painted for more than 10 years in order to enter in a school of design, after passing her A-level, where the traching of visual arts finally didn't suit her. She feels more artistic than creative, as we teach in schools, so she decides to leave it after one year and to make her own experience in the world of arts. Following a tempestuous career, Perla discovers the photography a couple of years later - an art for which she has a big interest up until now.

Creating images has become her leitmotif. Inspired by feminine esthetics, she works with lots of prestigious model agencies - such as Elite - a particular bond was formed. Her first editorials were published by the presigious magazine l'Officiel.
During the summer of 2010, she has participated to the "International festival of photography of fashion" in Cannes, where two of her photographies were selected and exhibited to everyone the whole summer. She won the award of "jeune talent de la photographie de mode" that same year.
Also she was interviewed by Fance 2, the 3rd August 2010, after winning her award, and because of that, a huge media boom followed.
Her name is now one of the names in the fashion-world of Paris
