We are often drawn to things of a darker nature - things that are unsettling - that we cannot fully comprehend or that are not based completely in reality. It is our subconscious desire to embrace, if only for a minute, certain aspects of ourselves that we deem frightening or unacceptable.

Jayʼs work is an embodiment of that contradiction. His photography is his alter ego.
